Jane's World: In the News

October 8-10, Jane's World was in Newark, NJ for
Onna! 2005
Shoujo Arts Society and Yurikon LLC hosted this brand-new,all-encompassing
convention highlighting women's roles in animation and comics. I learned all
about yuri, yaoi, josei, shoujo and
tentacles! Needless to say it was a fun-filled educational weekend.
I was one of the guests for the weekend (that's me on the right), along with
Tania Del Rio (center), who writes and pencils the new and improved "Sabrina The
Teen Age Witch," and Euralis Weekes (left), animator and co-owner of Chaotic
Unicorn.
Find out more about Tania by visiting her blog,"The Witching Hour" :
http://www.livejournal.com/users/taniadelrio/
And check out more of Euralis's stuff at:
http://www.euralisweekes.com/

If you want to know about tentacles... Ask these crazy women from Drama Queen
publishing in Houston. (http://www.onedramaqueen.com)
But don't go to dinner with them...
They're bad luck in a restaurant.
Jane's Word at Comic Con
We survived San Diego Comic Con International and are finally rested enough
to post a few photos. I took my camera, but was too visually overwhelmed to
take any photos. How lame. So I've had to depend on a few pals to send me
images from the show. The highlights of the week? Got to talk to Seth Green
in Peet's coffee and bumped into Joss Whedon near my booth. Two guys from my
favorite show, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."
Thanks to all the guys (and gals) at the Prism booth for letting me sign
books there and thanks to Tim and Mark (Cold Cut Distributors) for putting
me on the self-publishing panel. I always learn something new on those
panels!

Paige (standing) and Adrienne (seated) talk to fans and run the Jane's World
booth during comic con. Thanks to all of you who stopped by to say hello and
pick up recent copies of Jane. (photo by Stephanie Samuels.)

Spain, who just published the first vol. of Jane's World in Spanish.
Jane's World in Toronto:

The Toronto Comic Art Festival, hosted by the Beguiling at 601
Markham Street in Toronto, was a great show. I came back completely
inspired to try new and different things in Jane's World. It's always
energizing to hang out with a group of people who are creating books
that reflect their personal vision. Thank you Chris and Peter for
putting on such a fabulous weekend event (sorry it took me so long to
get this photo posted!). And a special thank you to all our Canadian
readers who stopped by to say "hey" and check out our books in
person. We love ya!
Jane's World arrives in Madrid

Montserrat Terrones from Ediciones La Cupula (the publishing company) in
Barcelona, Spain, was kind enough to forward this photo from the Jane's World
presentation celebrated in Madrid last week. The gentleman with the white beard
is the publisher and the woman, Mili Hernandez, is a very popular lesbian in
Spain who has a specialized gay and lesbian bookshop in Chueca (the gay district
of Madrid). The name of the bookstore is Libreria Berkana. The gentleman on the
right is Lawrence Schimel.
| Adrienne and I are very excited to see this
book released and we hope our "Jane" readers in Spain will like it as well.
(Many thanks to Montserrat!) You can find out more about this publisher
