I grew up Italian American and I learned to cook in
Northern Italian
style. My mother's temper went through the roof when she
found out
I was gay because I was dating a Sicilian woman. It's
hard to say
what factor upset her the most; being a lesbian or
dating a
Sicilian. I grew up picking fresh tomatoes, hanging
homemade pasta
to dry and assisting in the kitchen so if I cooked with
a jar of
sauce that would even be worse than coming out or dating
a Sicilian
and I would definitely get the 'boot'.

Dear Paige,
IÅd already send you one or another email... and now
IÅm writing to
you because a want ask if itÅs possible to send me the
Jane fan club
web address. you send me once, but I lost... At this
time, IÅm
making one site here and, as you can imagine, IÅll put
one link to
Jane World! And I think it was interesting have all the
stuff linked
to.
So I will wait.

I love Jane's world! I've been hooked on your
work ever since I was surfing for well-crafted
comics with a lesbian-friendly attitude. I
check the comics.com site every day. How do
you keep your creative juices flowing for
story lines?

dedicate every week to eudora welty! i enjoyed last
week's comics
much more than the usual ones... or, how about a kurt
vonnegut week?
and a milan kundera week? and, let's not forget about
the
possibilities a tom robbins week would hold! oh, do mix
it up again.

Subject: Cosmo...
Paige, Cosmo is one of my favorite magazines on the
ice. The
guys here fight for it. It's more titillating than
Playboy, by far ;)
Thanks for the mid-coffee chuckle. It hurts, though,
when you
blow it through your nose.

I've just discovered Jane's World on comics.com--I
like your style.
(I found last week's strips strange and evocative
and somehow
familiar--of course! Eudora!) But, I'm confused--aliens?
Vampires?
Is there a collection of old "World"s available so
I can get caught up?
Oh, and by the way, the thumbnail portraits on the
"Meet the
Characters" page of comics.com don't work for any character
below
Chelle. Pretty mysterious, huh? One more thing--Ethan's
cute, if
clueless. I've always had a thing for bearded straight
guys in flannel.
(Maybe my mother was seduced by a lumberjack...) Hey,
wait a
minute! I just surfed my way over to your site on pridedepot.com
and there it is--"Now available from Plan Nine Publishing!"
Let me
get my credit card.

Dear Paige,
I've been reading your write up in "Cartoonist Profiles"
and I must
say I have enjoyed it very much.
Mostly I wanted to comment on your art work, I really
like the way
Jane looks and the whole strip reads rather well. Keep
up the good
work. It looks GREAT.
Please forgive me though, I'm having a little trouble
with some of
the content. I don't mind small breast at all. But it
seems as if "Jane" is
suggesting that she is GAY ? ........................................
I don't really care one way or the other, I'm just
really puzzled cause I can't really tell just yet.
So, with a sincere "please", could you clear this up
for me ?
I am definitely a new fan, but a little confused one
at this time.
Thanks, Paul
