Wednesday, November 14, 2001  I grew up Italian American and I learned to cook in Northern Italian  style. My mother's temper went through the roof when she found out  I was gay because I was dating a Sicilian woman. It's hard to say  what factor upset her the most; being a lesbian or dating a  Sicilian.
