KEEP THE BOOBS

Tuesday, April 8, 2003

Dear Paige Braddock,
I've only just discovered your strip and have been sucked into it. I was wondering, when Jane meets Dorothy's friend Stephan, the guy who does Pearls Before Swine, is that based on an actual experience? Did you really meet Stephan Pastis? Or is it some form of revenge or something? Oh well. I love your strip!
Sincerely,
Bill

Your storyline is hilarious! As I am a Jane chest-alike, here's a story for you. I once went to have a mammogram, and to reassure me as to her skills, the technician doing my films proudly said to me, "I did a man last week!"

Paige,
I just wanted you to know i absolutely love "Janes World". Over the last 3 days i have gotten nothing done at work, because i've been reading all of your archives. So here's my question. Where can we find 2002, and the first part of 2003? If i need to buy it, i will, is it in print yet. Please let me know!
Your newest fan!
Cristi

Hi,

First off, I would like to comment on how great a
comic Jane's World is and how obsessed I've become :P
It's also great that it has been such a long-running
comic and I've had great fun going through the
archive.

I actually started with the published version of
Jane's World. My friend Dan works in a comic book
place and for my birthday he asked his boss where the
lesbian comics were. So for my birthday, not too long
ago, I got the first issue of Jane's World. After I
bought the third issue I started reading the archive.
But-but the archive on janesworldcomics.com stops at
the end of 2001 and-and the comics.com only shows the
last thirty days and-and its 2003! Can I really
fast-forward a full year? I'm deeply saddened about
missing a year in Jane's life. (I have a life too!
But this has become a great entertaining part of it!)
I guess I'll plunge forward into the now and continue
to buy the comics, ever awaiting for 2002. And thanks
for putting up the archive!! I was reading through the
fan-mail and I'm glad the guy from Portugal convinced
you to put it up!! I think the archive has greatly
supplemented my reading of the comic and will no way
hinder me from buying (or my friend Dan buying) Jane's
World!!

signed,
your ever-ever grateful, hyper, rambling of a reader,
Amanda/Kaiotte

P.S. I love Rusty!

Wow. At first I thought it was a coincidence that the strip is called "Pearls Before Swine," and then... *gasps in astonishment* It's THAT one? Wow...

I notice his strip and yours (on the United Media site) mutually link each other ("If you love this comic, you may like these"). But will he respond in his strip?

More scantily-clad Ethan, please! ;)

dear paige:
your comic is fabulous. your current fun with stephan from pearls before swine is in the finest crosscultural comic-meets-comic trainwreck tradition. even (especially!) those who make the rest of us laugh need the gift of laughing at themselves. on the web page where i treasure (read) your strip is always an add for a certain purple pill. if people read you more often and laughed more, they would never need nexium. thank you for making total strangers laugh six days a week.

Everyday I come into work and the first thing I do is sit down at my computer and read my two daily comics. They are the very first emails that I open up. Of course the continuing saga of Jane has consumed me for the few months. The other daily comic I receive? Pearls Before Swine. Cracks me up.

How crazy is it that Stephan Pastis is now appearing in your strip?

I'm trying to figure out what the connection is or is it just plain lucky that I myself have made that same sort of connection? Keep it up Ms. Braddock!!!!!!! Good stuff!

E-mailing artists is not on my usual to-do list but I had to. I just stumbled upon "Jane's World" and read about the last 45 days worth of strips. I just wanted to say that I absolutely love it! As an up in the air lesbian, pagan, writer/artist/aspiring cartoonist who dreams a lot and accomplishes little (whew!) you've created a world that us non-family oriented working mother of 19 types can relate to. Just thanks. I hope to see Jane hangin' around for a long time to come.

Hello Ms Braddock,

I really enjoy your strip. It's very amusing and the characters often seem quite realistic. (Ok, maybe not the secret agent part.)

I think it highly ironic that you're having a story about Stephen Pastis since Jane's World and Pearls Before Swine are 2 of the 3 comics I have emailed to me daily.

Anyway, keep up the good work!

Becky

Hi Paige,

I just discovered you comic through the Sequential Tart forum. I've
be going through the archive and enjoying the cuteness of the
interpersonal dialog and situations. Great work, keep it up!
