thank you for creating a strip with some soul,
and thank you for not burdening society with
another "Cathy".

Please, please, please.
Don't let Jane mess this opportunity up.
Life is so short, and the best we can take is the
happiness we can make with
someone.

Subject: Keep at it!!!
In this day of overt Republican conservatism I find
"Jane's World"
truly refreshing. The fact that most of America shudders
at the
thought of open homosexuality is an endless source of
amusement
(scary, but amusing). Funny thing is I'm a straight guy
who's spent
the last 21 years in the U.S. military, 19 of them in
northern
Europe...might just stay here. Go get 'em Paige!

Hi. Stumbled upon your comic on the web. I've been
buying the comic book for
a while now, and it really is a treat. The things that
ring truest or are
closest to real life are probably the funniest.
Keep it up. Please!

Subject: Love the strip
Just wanted to say how much I enjoy your strip. I've
been following it
since Yahoo picked it up, and I've read all of the
archives on your site.
Guess it's time to buy the books and fill in the rest.
It's sad to see that
Yahoo users are consistently ranking the strips unfairly
low - my guess is
that a handful of people have taken it upon themselves
to protest the
strip's content. Hopefully Yahoo's management is smart
enough to see that.
As someone pointed out, the strip is if anything too
'normal' for the funny
pages - alien abductions and Amazon islands aside. Yeah,
the characters are
a bunch of misfits with dysfunctional relationships, but
they're doing
better than a lot of people I've known. Heck, I'm a
twentysomething,
not-quite-straight single father of two, who's rarely
got time to meet and
date straight women, let alone figure out where the
whole
being-attracted-to-guys thing fits into my life. I
challenge you to come up
with a character with those constraints who doesn't have
some real issues.
:) And I've still got it better than my best female
friend - she's a
firefighter on a remote Pacific island, probably one of
only about four
lesbians in a 1000-mile radius. All the social
implications of any small
town, and no where else to go.
Anyway, keep up the good work. I'm rooting for Jane...
give her a break
once in a while, ok? She deserves it.

Subject: Your wicked awesome comic strip...
Hi, Paige.
Your comic rocks! You are a pioneer. Besides all the
obvious 'first gay lead
character in a comic strip' stuff, your illustrations
and character
depictions leave nothing to be desired (except maybe
Chelle & Jane wrestling
naked?). As a lesbian and a woman and a human being,
your strip touches my
life on many levels. The character interaction, the ex
dramas, the straight
friends, the jock chick...all of these are familiar.
Something I read in an article about the strip really
hit me...'trying to
get along in a straight world.' That is sooo
true...while there are many of
us, we are a minority that lives in a primarily
heterosexual society. But we
can interact, and love our straight friends, family,
etc. without ensconcing
ourselves in a completely "safe" gay universe.
I love your comic. I started reading it a few months ago
and when I
discovered your site I "wasted" 2 hours at work reading
years 98-02. I
cannot get enough of Jane's World. I am looking in my
local comic book shops
for the books so I can buy them (I just wish I didn't
read that fast). Well,
just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your artistry.
By the way I think Chelle and Jane are sooooo damn hot.
Sincerely Loving it & Hoping for Many More Years,
I.

Great rendition of an old Winnebago. I have a 1975
19'Winnebago that looks
just like the one in your comic dated 1/17/2004. The
sisters and I also go on
adventures like pictured - not quite decked out as
Priscella - but we do turn
heads. Do enjoy your strip !! Thanks !!

Paige,
What a great comic you've got going. I've just stumbled
upon it via yahoo...
Great drawing style and fun story lines.
Its great to see a comic like yours outside of a gay
rag.
Continued, if not more, success!

Well, well...a friend forwarded me this address and I
got to instantly enjoy
the adventures of Jane and her friends...what a
delightful group of
intelligently written misfits, and so well rounded. I
simply must make this
Jane more into a habit. Bravo!
