The first part of January has seen an odd mix of things transpire. My girlfriend and I started the New Year by taking a location scouting trip to tour a WWII submarine in San Francisco bay. A portion of Jane’s World Vol. 9 takes place on submarine in case you were wondering.

For those of you asking yourself “why is she talking about vol. 9?? Where is vol. 8??” Vol. 8 is closing out even as I write. It’s finished… finally… I hit a snag 50-60 pages into the book and had to scrap a lot of material and start over. That rewrite/redraw set me back several weeks and for that I’m sorry, but the finished book is much better for it.
This next photo is of my first body art. No, I didn’t actually do the tattoo itself, but I did draw the car for my friend Simone and now she’s wearing it. Pretty damn cool.

Then, to round out the first week of January, just as I was finishing book 8, northern California had a “historic” storm. Seven to ten inches of rain and 60 mph winds. Needless to say, we lost power and I lost part of my roof. And yes, as if the furry cap wasn’t a dead give away, it was also COLD. This is a photo that my pal Susan took as we were sharing some apple pie and instant coffee by candle light.

The “tat” is quite awesome, if I say so myself – lol. A big thank you for your willingness to help me bring this vision to life! I love it, and wear it proudly!!!!
How cool is that: your first body art authorship!
Here is hoping for dry weather and punctual roofers.
Paige,
I love the sub shot! You look like Curd Jürgens from “The Enemy Below”.
Friend of mine sent me your blog. She also sent me your comic strip…she was shocked I didn’t know about it. I was shocked she knew about it…she is straight. Anyways good stuff. Thanks for sharing. I will make it one of my blog stops.
