Angouleme 2009!!

LGBT card english

It has finally happened. My comics pal, Tim Fish, has talked me into attending the Angouleme comics festival in France at the end of January.

Here’s a lovely post card that Tim designed highlighting weekend events for any of you who might be attending. Conveniently, one side in English, one side in French.

Big thanks to Xavier and Jean-Paul for planning our fun-filled weekend!

More info about book signings in Paris to come as events develop. Cheers!

Christmas card parody

My crazy, fun friend, Hajime, in Tokyo (who you might remember as my “eye wear soul mate” from a previous post) is at it again!

Story transition

In today’s comic readers may notice that not much actual story happens… but the stage is being set for a transition to a new story direction. It’s hard to manage this sort of “art only” set up in a once a week format… so hopefully readers will be a bit patient. Next week the comic will be slightly longer to move the transition a bit more rapidly. (One reader on comics.com did pick up the tribute to “The Last Starfighter”… good eye!)

The REAL Mr. Fluffy

Readers of Jane’s World often ask if the characters in my comic are based on “real” people… well, in this case, I thought it was time to unveil the “real” Mr. Fluffy (photo right).

And it is true, that he will not climb a baby gate. It’s a very funny thing… and the real Mr. Fluffy (which is not his actual name, by the way) when not behind the gate has managed to send both of my wiener dogs to the vet’s office. After one particularly feisty encounter, Olive walked away with a dispatched cat claw stuck in the middle of her forehead.
