Thanks to Sarah Warn, Jane’s World will start appearing every Thursday on AfterEllen.com. I met up with Sarah at this cool tea shop (which was really all about the scones and cupcakes) the last time I was in New York and she was kind enough to offer Jane and her pals a regular spot on AfterEllen.

Historic readers of Jane’s World will see that the first few weeks of the strip’s run on AfterEllen will be sort of a “best of” selection. The plan is to introduce new readers to the strip and get them caught up on the current story line. The fun part is that these “best of” selections will appear in color.

Congrats to Kay Ryan…. My friend Katherine Hastings who organizes and hosts the Word Temple poetry series introduced me to her work when she invited me to one of Kay’s readings and I became an instant fan-girl. Another Kay Ryan fan, Suzi Lebaron, sent me a note today to see if I’d heard the news that Kay had been selected as the 16th Poet Laureate of The United States. (I had not.) I was really excited to hear the news so I felt compelled to post this fan-girl photo again and say WAY TO GO KAY RYAN.

I thought I’d also post a partial page from Jane’s World book 9… in progress… this is a pretty funny installment of JW considering I just had my first Chai this week (with soy milk!!).

Oh yeah… and next week is comic con in San Diego. I won’t be there this year so I just wanted to say hello to all my pals that I usually see during the convention. Good luck! And I’ll miss you!

I just returned from a month of traveling… New York, Vancouver, Atlanta… while in a meeting in Vancouver I was scribbling amidst my notes and wondering what it would be like if Jane got contacts. She would totally different without her glasses. Would that be too weird? Maybe she’d only wear contacts part of the time… anyway, just a notion I was toying with. Happy belated July 4th.
