Kyle and Zan in the Prism Comics booth

My friend Zan posted a great recap of the weekend at Wondercon on the Prism website. Check it out. And I’d like to send out my own big “thank you” to Zan, Ted Abenheim, Patty Jeres, Tommy Roddy and Justin Hall for all their efforts at the Prism Booth and the book reading on Saturday night.

A great crowd turned up at the Three Dollar Bill Cafe for the reading. Thanks to everyone who ventured out in the rain to cheer us on.

Wondercon Newsarama encounter

Jason handed out postcards and talked up a Martian Confederacy storm. Our preview pages were worn out by the Sunday afternoon. JK Parkin from Newsarama stopped and had a fun discussion with Jason about…well just about everything. He was also nice enough to plug Martian Confederacy on the Newsarama blog. Check it out. And check out our Mars blog for a nice photo op of Jason and crew.

Comics Worth Reading

Johanna Draper Carlson was kind enough to take time from her (no doubt) HUGE stack of reading material to give an advance copy of Jane’s World Vol. 8 her professional reviewer’s eye. The review is up on her Comics Worth Reading website today. Check it out! Comics Worth Reading: Jane’s World Vol. 8

Lou crash lands on the Martian surface

I mentioned in my previous post about The Martian Confederacy that there was a third member of the “confederacy.” Well, she’s Lou… the hot, sassy, tri-sexual android who will be gracing the cover.

The Martians are coming

martianconfed_logo copy.jpg

Toxic air. Bloodthirsty politicians. Drinking bears. Welcome to Mars in the year 3535. Stripped of its natural resources and forgotten as a vacation destination, Martians struggle to afford breathable air. Boone, Spinner and Lou were three outlaws looking out for themselves. But when a cure for Mars’s toxic air falls into the wrong hands, thieves are forced to become heroes. And as an entire planet gasps for air three rednecks will fight for the survival of their planet.

Boone and Spinner (art of Lou to follow… you’re gonna love her.)

Yeah, babeee… My pal Jason McNamara and I are co-creating a book due to release in Diamond’s July Previews. Jason has written a hilarious script, which I’m illustrating.
Stay tuned for more art and story details… rednecks on the red planet… here they come.

The Cheese poem and Shallow Breast Guy

There have been numerous emails flying around today about the page that appeared this morning on Comics.com. For all of you who are Pearls Before Swine fans… yes, that is Stephan Pastis, in the cartoon flesh… and yes, he really wrote that poem, which I promptly stole, scanned and set about figuring out how to work into my storyline. Hey, what can I say… I recognize great poetry when I see it.
